I always get asked how and why I became vegan. I'll start off with why.
The main reasons why I went vegan was because of health, nutritional and environmental reasons. My journey to veganism began as far back as 2010. This was when I received and watched a DVD called 'Eating' By Mike Anderson. From that time, I stopped drinking milk and opt for alternatives (I was really into oat and almond milk) . It was a little step I decided to make as I didn't have ful control over what I ate (I was 13). From that time I was aware of the environmental damage the meat and dairy industries causes, I promised myself that one day I'd become vegan. This was a promise I made to be part of a change, as I believed every drop makes an ocean.
In 2016 I watched 'Forks over knives' and I felt for the animals. At this point in my life I still wasn't drinking milk and I thought why not go vegan? As nothing was really stopping me I spent a week as a vegetarian and then dropped all animal products. I didn't want to contribute to the industry anymore.
Although I didn't really go vegan over night, I did make huge changes in a short space of time. My knowledge of herbs, nutrition and cooking really helped me to embark on this journey. Being vegan for almost a year now and I can honestly say it's one of the best decisions I have ever made!
